Nelson is a town in the borough of Pendle in Lancashire, England.It lies 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Burnley on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.Nelson is not an acutal tourist destination, but does have a lot of attractions on its doorstep including Townley Hall and Park at Burnley, Gawthorpe Hall at Padiham and Wycollar at Colne. There is a swimming pool called Pendle Wavelengths in the Town Centre. The Pennine Way also runs close to the town and the historic town of Clitheroe is nearby. |
