Hartfield is a village in East Sussex England. Hartfield is most famous for being the home of A.A. Milne, author of the Winnie the Pooh books, and the location of the Poohsticks Bridge, which is now a popular tourist attraction. The village lies on the northern edge of the Ashdown Forest, and is probably named due to the number of deer (or hart) in the area when Ashdown Forest was a Royal Hunting Park. |
